Character Quiz VI
Here's this weeks's Character Quiz. I'd say they range from easy to moderately obscure. Even if you know all four just guess one, at least for the first few days, to give everyone a chance to guess. If everyone gets stuck after a few days, come on back and identify the rest.
As usual, ther's extra credit for any additional information, and no fair plugging the names into Google!!
1. Joe Friday
2. Ed Norton
3. Mrs. Abigail Uppington
4. Songbird
Have fun!

Dragnet
The buddy on the Honeymooners.
Uhhhh....
That's all I got.
See ya tomorrow!!!
1. Joe Friday was the alter ego of Jack Webb of 'Dragnet' fame. I think his sidekick was Harry Morgan - aka 'Bill Gannon' - of 'Mash' fame.
2. Ed Norton was the sewer worker, upstairs neighbor(?), and foil for Ralph Cramden, their long suffering wives were 'Trixie' and 'Alice'.
tommygun
1)Joe Friday was the character played by Jack Webb in the 1950's TV sitcom DRAGNET. Harry Morgan was a late commer as Joe's partner. I remember Ben Alexander playing the part.
2) Ed Norton....The Honeymooners sewer worker and Jacky Gleasons stooge.
3) not a clue!
4) Songbird was the Cessna airplane in the 1950's sitcom: SKY KING.
I forget the actors names but the main character, his nephew and niece (Penny?) lived on a western ranch: (The Flying ?) and had numerous adventures chasing bad guys with their plane. There was also a dog involved which was either a German Shephard or a collie.
Eddie
Sky King had two airplanes called Songbird. The series started with him flying a WWII surplus Cessna T-50 Bobcat. After a couple of seasons, someone at Cessna Aircraft found out and Uncle Sky started flying a brand-new Songbird; a Cessna 310b.
In recent years, some folks have tried to track down the 310b that was used in the series.
Unfortunately, since at one point, either the aircraft was stolen or it's numbers were, nobody now knows what really happend to the Songbord II.
Oh, in the series, the ranch was "The Flying Crown", niece Penny was shown flying her own Beechcraft Bonanza and nephew Clipper, who didn't appear regularly, flew a single-seat Mooney Mite.
Whatever would make you think that I watched the show regularly?
It looks like I stumped everyone with Mrs. Abigail Uppington, but you got the other three perfectly! Mrs. Abigail Uppington was the was the "Upper Class Rich Lady" the Fibber McGee's wife Molly was always trying to impress on the Fibber McGee and Molly radio program.
...... Mr. C.
