The Dixon Springs Ag Center hosts events regularly where I participate, and at an after action review meeting the coordinator told us that the vegans weren't satisfied with the menus available from the food vendors there. I told her, "Steph, the vegans won't be satisfied 'til they have a good serving of meat. Don't worry about them." That was the end of that little problem.
One of Alton Brown's favorite vegan recipes:
1.) Purchase vegan from reliable vendor.
2.) Soak vegan in brine overnight.
3.) Stuff vegan with pork sausage.
4.) Roast on spit 3 hours, or until juices run clear.
