Finally - Off To Piru

THe last week has been pretty hectic, but most all of the ducks are now in neat rows (we'll see how long that lasts!) and in about an hour KeeWee and I board the bus for the hour and a half ride to the Seattle/Tacoma airport for our flight to Burbank. From there it's by rental car to Valencia, about 40 minutes of white-knuckling it up the Freeway. We'll check in at the hotel late this evening, and, hopefully, get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow morning we need to be at the range in Piru, California, for the Rimfire Open Steel Challenge world championships. Piru is about 20 minutes from the hotel. By Thursday afternoon it will be all over, at least for me, as I'm only shooting in the rimfire division. Friday we'll hang out at the range and watch the second day['s shooting. Friday night is the big dinner. Saturday morning we fly home. The well funded shooters go to Piru a week early and practice all week before the match to get used to the heat and dust. That, at least for us, is way out of our budget, so we try to keep the hotel room and rental car days to a minimum. Saturday evening we should be home. I'm sure Bun will be glad we're back.................
