Back from GBR-III
KeeWee and I arrived home from the Gun Blogger Rendezvous in Reno late last night. Here's the short summary:
NRA Press conference: No big news, no surprises. NRA to endorse McCain/Palin. Obama is anti-gun. Interesting to hear Wayne LaPierre in person.
BBQ dinner at Gecko's in the Circus Circus: Very tasty, not greasy ribs. Reasonably priced.
Cabela's tour: Very impressive store, really nice people, bought a used High Standard at a very good price.
Basque Dinner: Not bad, not great, over priced, but interesting anyway.
Range Day: Lots of cool guns, cold weather. Had fun!
Saturday Pizza Feed: Decent pizza, lots of it. Gained weight, for sure.
Saturday Raffle and door prizes: Lots of nice shirts and hats and other stuff for door prizes. Everyone went home with cool swag. Raised $1380 in the raffle for Project Valour-IT. Will also have some registration money to add to the $1380. Big thanks to Brownell's, Para USA, Hi-Point, Crimson Trace, Dillon Precision, Anthroblogogy, the NRA, and Front Sight Training Institute for providing great stuff for the raffle.
Scheel's Outfitters: Just opened two weeks ago in Reno. Similar to Cabela's but almost three times bigger! It boggled the mind!
Attendees: Absolutely the best group you could possibly hope for. Great folks, great times, good conversation, all in all, a fantastic Rendezvous!!
KeeWee and I: .....E X H A U S T E D......
(Note: We've got lots more, including plenty of pictures to post, just not today!)
