NRA Major Election Announcement Coming

I apologize to all of you for talking about the "Special Event" that's going to happen on Thursday night in Reno while we're at the Rendezvous, but I had very little information other than it was going to be something really important, and that the NRA folks really wanted us Gun Bloggers to be there. Now that the press release is out, here's what I know:

NRA to Make Major Election Announcement Thursday, October 9, 2008

Fairfax, VA. - The National Rifle Association's (NRA) Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre and NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) Chairman Chris W. Cox will be traveling to Pittsburgh, Pa., Springfield, Mo., Colorado Springs, Colo. and Reno, Nev. Thursday, October 9 for a series of press conferences where they will make a very important announcement regarding the 2008 Presidential elections.

Members of the media are invited to attend these events. Locations and times of events are as follows:

Pittsburgh, Pa. - 8 A.M. EDT

Radisson Hotel, Pittsburgh Green Tree
101 Radisson Drive
Pittsburgh, PA 15205

Springfield, Mo. - 11:15 A.M. CDT

University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center
333 John Q. Hammons Parkway
Springfield, MO 65806

Colorado Springs, Colo. - 2:15 P.M. MDT

Radisson Hotel, Colorado Springs
1645 North Newport Road
Colorado Springs, CO 80916

Reno, Nev. - 5:30 P.M. PDT

Grand Sierra Resort
2500 East 2nd Street
Reno, NV 89595

How about that! Both Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox will be there. The Gun Bloggers attending the Gun Blogger Rendezvous in Reno have be specifically invited and will have a chance to ask questions and to get some photos. WiFi from the hotel itself during the press conference is iffy, but if any of the Gun Bloggers have a wireless connection of your own, they can blog away live from the press conference.

What will the announcement be? Hard to tell, but I don't think it's going to be something small. I don't think they would have gone to all this trouble and put together four press conferences in one day in four different cities unless it's pretty big, big enough to change the direction of the presidential election.

We'll know tomorrow............................
