Back to the Grind...
The fun of Christmas and New Year's only lasts for so long, and then it's back to the same old grind.
The business I'm in is usually deader than a doornail through the holidays, but this year went the other way entirely. Mind you, I'm not complaining, but it's starting to cut into my shooting and blogging time! Maybe It'll quiet down a bit for the next week or so.
Speaking of shooting, I finally got out to the range for a little rim fire handgunning, and I can see there's some work to be done! I'd taken a short break from shooting right after the last match of the season, as shooting in a match almost every weekend, sometimes two matches in the same weekend, plus practicing as much as possible, you can get a little burned out. It sure doesn't take long to get rusty, though....
This next year CWSA has added a bunch of steel challenge matches along with the regular pin shoots and hanging plate matches.
I also plan to get up to Custer for a few pin shoots, too. That's always a good reality check, shooting against Gerald. When you come up against Gerald the whole idea is to see if you can get one or two pins off the table before he's got all five of his!
Early June is the Fishin' Club's annual Banks Lake weekend outing, potluck dinner, and fishing trip. Always a lot of fun!
Then there's the Montana Annual Celebrity Pin shoot in late July. Don't want to miss that one. It's a long drive, but it's a fun get-together, put on by a great bunch of folks, and we have a good time blasting bowling pins with everything you can imagine, even including full auto's!
Early August KeeWee and I are off to Juneau, Alaska for a week or so of visiting with friends, kicking back, and getting in a ton of fly fishing for good sized salmon.
This Saturday KeeWee and I are driving down to Portland, Oregon to meet up with Rivrdog and get in a little range time. We will also work over some of the final details and equipment for the pin shoot to be held on March 11th. Watch for more details on this event, you will want to make it of you possibly can!
Sunday all day will be spent in Washougal, Washington,a small town just over the border from Oregon, installing a computer system and training the employees how to run it all, then back home late Sunday night. Whew!
Looks like it's going to be a busy year.
Saddle up!!
