Grip and Stance

Josh at South Park Pundit has a very good post up on handgun grip and stance. If you aren't getting the results at the range you think you should be getting, maybe this is the cure. The descriptions and pictures should get you up to speed.

If you notice Mr. C.'s grip and stance shooting pins (over there on the right side bar at the top), you can clearly see he's WAY beyond help.......

Heh. Don't revert to that "taco" grip when you're shooting a big semi-auto or revolver. Getting your finger crushed by the slide would ruin your day! And your finger...And get pieces of hand stuck in your gun... ;)

A buddy of my showed me something that drastically helped out my shot placement.

I'll see if I can explain it in words.

[right-handed shooter]

Firmly grip the receiver in your shooting hand and with your left thumb peel your middle, ring, and pinkie finger away from the receiver so your first knuckles are (somewhat) perpendicular to the receiver.

What your trying to accomplish is to get the feel of where you should be putting your grip pressure on the receiver. Which is on the front of the receiver with your fingers in-between the 1st and 2nd knuckle obtaining the "vise" grip.

Before this I was gripping the receiver tight but I was putting pressure on it with the tips of my fingers that made my shot off.
