Preparedness pays off

As you have probably noticed, I haven't had much to say on the hurricane situation, and for a good reason.

You cannot turn on a TV, a radio, or vist the blogosphere without being inundated with pictures and descriptions of the situation.

If I come across something relevant that ISN'T geting heavy coverage, however, that is another case. Rivrdog, one of the better "preparedness bloggers" out there, came across this article, and I've passed it on.

Residents Guard Neighborhoods From Looters

It turns out that some folks in New Orleans WERE prepared, with food, guns, generators, and a game plan to protect their homes.

You should go read the whole article. You just might not see it anywhere else....

Gee, I wonder why the "major media" isn't carrying any stories like this? Could it be that self-suffeciency doesn't fit their agenda?

Not only doesn't fit their values, it has no "oh, the humanity" value to pump up their advertizing rates.

And thank you for the kind link, sir.
