I didn't have a problem with the idea of driving, as I love a roadtrip, but I knew fairly early on that the idea of me getting the better part of a week away from the shop in the beginning of the busiest season of the year was pretty slim.
If you want anybody in the retail end of the gun industry to show, the shindig needs to be sometime between May 1 and August 31.
Tam, the weather during most of that period is a ring-tail SOB, and you would get even fewer drivers.
Maybe two different GBRs?
I guess there's just no one specific time of year that works for everyone. Earlier in the year it conflicts with a lot of shooting competitions and as RD says, it's really hot in Reno. Later in the year conflicts with hunting season, the hotel rates go up and room availability goes way down because of the nearby Tahoe skiing season. It also gets really cold out at the range. I sent out some inquiries to see if anyone was interested in an inside passage cruise to Alaska for Gunbloggers in late May, but didn't get a single reply.
