Friday CAT Blogging
How about a little "CAT" blogging for Friday? If I had enough money to buy expensive toys just for the fun of playing with them, a small to medium sized dozer would be near the top of my list. If you've never had the chance to run one, you just don't know what you've missed.
I don't even think it's a "guy" thing either, as I know a couple of ladies that think these are great fun too.
By the way, at least in this part of the woods, it doesn't have to be made by Caterpiller to be called a CAT. It's a generic term. We also call them dozers, and the yuppies from the city call them bulldozers.
We try not to laugh, but don't always succeed......

Those things sure are fun... got to drive a big one (several times the size of that one) up on the coal pile at a power plant where I used to work over the summers. At the end of the summer, one of the dozer operators took each of the college kids up on the coal pile to drive the dozer around. They sure are fun.
Ahem, the yuppies would be wrong, as usual. In my technical class in the Air Guard in which we learned to repair these tracks (everything tracked was called a track), we learned that the bulldozer is just the blade. The rest of it is a tracked tractor.
If it has a bucket instead of a blade, it's not a bulldozer in any sense of the term.
The loggers down Oregon way call any of this equipment Cats also.
I always wanted to own one of those "Bobcat" multi-purpose machines. I watched a guy use one to bury a complete tanker-trailer up in the Canadian Territories one time...
