30-06 or .308?

30-06 or .308?

Civis at Oscar Poppa is considering adding a bolt action rifle to his collection, either in 30-06, or in .308, and he's asking for guidance as to which to choose. If you'd like to weigh in on the discussion, head on over and leave him your thoughts in a comment.

Isn't the .308 has the same ballistic and charateristic as the 30-06? The advance in chemistry allow the catridge to be shorten.

.260 Remington. A bit less recoil than .308, and you can shoot more rounds in a match, assuming you shoot enough to need low recoil in the first place. Also has a good ballistic coefficient. Lots of parent cases available.
