Lots of good stuff today
Lots of good posts out there today, starting with a reprint of an Column by John McCroskey, Sheriff of Lewis County, Washington from a couple of years ago, posted by AnalogKid at Random Nuclear Strikes. Seems the MSM decided to go to one of the largest gun shows in the state and secretly film one of their reporters buying a rifle. Then they showed to video to sheriff McCroskey and questioned him about it. I wonder if we could get Sheriff McCroskey to run for president. I'd sure vote for him.
Kim DuToit at Nation of Riflemen has a post about Denzel Washington and his family visiting the troups at Brooks Army Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas (BAMC) the other day. This is where soldiers that have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the States, especially burn victims. They have buildings there called Fisher Houses, hotels where soldiers’ families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the hospital. Denzel asked about the cost of a Fisher house, and when he found out what it costs to put one up, he wrote out a check for the full amount on the spot! You might want to tell everyone you know about this generous act by Mr. Washington. The media probably won't. The full post is here.
Firehand over at Irons In The Fire was out "sluggin' it out" at the range with his Benelli shotgun the other day. For his report, go here.
Firehand also has an interesting post on body armor, medieval style. A while back Firehand got involved with a bunch (of loonies?) who would make up their own body armor, then get together and hit each other with big sticks. Maybe that's what they do in the Summertime and they can't play hockey. Here's the full story.
