GO VOTE ! ! !
It's election day, a time when a lot of gun owners do what they usually do on election day, stay home. This is going to be an extremely important election as to our 2nd. Amendment Rights.
Just remember that the Democrats, when in power, gave us the so called "Assault Weapons" ban. The Republicans, when they got into power, removed it. Don't forget which party wants your guns. Without the 2nd. Amendment, the rest of the amendments don't mean much, as history has shown.
Go vote.

I'm not too happy with a lot of the Republicans in office, but as bad as some of them are, they're still better than the alternatives........

You are so right! My husband and I voted late this afternoon!
The Republicans did not remove the assault weapons ban. It had a 10 year sunset clause and expired on its own.
Anon: You are right that the Republicans did not "Remove" the ban, all they did was make sure that efforts to continue it failed, which resulted in the same thing.
okay, gun rights, important yes, I agree... but while we're worrying about our civil liberties, what about habeous corpus? gun rights don't matter a whole hell of a lot when you've been summarily labeled an "enemy combatant" and been shipped off to syria for waterboarding...
If I recall correctly, it was Reagan who signed the machine gun ban. Don't depend on either party to protect your rights...it's just lip service they deliver at the time when they want your support.
