Honorable Mentions:

JimmyB and MrsJimmyB, mistakenly shot their targets at twentyfive feet, rather than thirty. The both managed seven hits, so that's some good shooting, anyway, and worth the mention. If there's a "Jack and Jill" match in the future, these two are going to be right in there, for sure!

Merle only had access to a fifteen yard range, so he shot his match at fifteen yards! That's quite a difference, but he still turned in some respectable scores.

SteveI had to fold out and use the folding stock on his Cobray M-11 full-auto 9mm., as the stock blocked visibility of the iron sights when folded. He managed to fire twenty rounds in less than a second, and got fifteen of then on the target, nailing three flies. WOW!

Over-Achiever Award:
Ogre managed to swat five of those flies with his Makarov 9x18. Excellent shooting with such a short barrel and sight radius!

"Doin' it with style" Award:
CharlesH with his Ruger Super Red Hawk in .454 Casull! Cool..........

The first e-Postal handgun match has now wrapped up, and I think we all had a lot of fun with it. Chris Byrne, our overall winner, turned in some good shooting, particularly since he couldn't get to the range, and shot the match inside his house, using a silencer!

The overall quality of the shooting was high, and there were a LOT of really near misses. The flies not being lined up in columns and rows also added to the difficulty.

If I have missed anyone's entry, or you have been-mis-scored, please email me right away, and we'll get it sorted out, don't want anyone left out.

The next e-Postal handgun match will be on a more conventional target, but will be set up so that just about any handgun can be used. I'll have the rules posted in a couple of weeks.

The idea of shooting black dust mites at fifty yards in a coal mine has been permanently dropped..........

I think the 9-1/2 inch barrel on my .454 and resultant forward weight and long sight radius really helped me on this; didn't do so well with the shorter, lighter guns. I used .454 Casull instead of .45 LC (which can also be shot from a .454) because I didn't figure on placing so high and was hoping to form my own class to compensate. I think everybody thought their scores were worse than they turned out to be.

This was fun! I like the novelty target; I always use a center hold rather than six-o-clock because six-o-clock only applies to circular targets subtending a specific angle, so weird shapes give me an edge. (Didn't seem to help me with the .22 though.)
